Feeling the love

I was reading a wonderful book the other day which said ‘When you imagine anything positive that you want and love, you are harnessing the force of love. When you imagine something positive, something good, and you feel love for it, that is what you are giving – and that is what you will receive’.

Last week Martha and the ladies finished a very big order for a customer who was not happy with the shade of yellow we used. It wasn’t anybody’s fault as, like paint, felt colours don’t always come in the same shades and we had to make 600 of the same item. But because we sent a sample to the customer, she had matched it up with ribbon that she had bought, so we could understand her concern.

We always use the philosophy that if you give love you get it back – and having worked overtime to get the order finished and pouring so much love into what the ladies had made, we were all a little sad that the customer was not happy. But instead of feeling negative – the ladies chose to think positive thoughts for what they had done and told me that despite the colour, each heart was beautifully made and filled with love. They had tried their best and enjoyed making the hearts and that was all that mattered.

A week later the customer phoned us again… and guess what? She wanted to order 300 more of the very same hearts! So you see, the philosophy works. When you give love, you get it straight back.

Which reminds me, when I was in Cape Town last week where we took part in ‘The Christmas Gift Fair’, in Constantia. I met up with Tanielle from Forgetmenot. Talk about someone filled with love and positivity. I think she is doing such an amazing thing by a). recycling plastic and saving our planet b). making beautiful creations out of it (we've created a little crochet bowl set together if you've yet not seen it) and c). creating jobs for very special ladies in Cape Town. Now here's a project that I believe is going to get lots and lots of love coming its way. It's amazing to see that in our beautiful country, there is actually so much love to go around. So keep it coming.
